4 tips to protect your skin in summer

4 tips to protect your skin in summer
The countdown to this summer has already begun, with the temperature rising more and more every day. However, we should include sunscreen in our daily routine and place it immediately in our favorite moisturizer.

With so many options on the market, we may get confused and not know what to choose for our skin needs. First, we should consider whether the product we plan to buy contains harmful chemicals and at the same time invest in a sunscreen with a high protection index.

It is very important to protect our face from solar radiation during the summer as well as the rest of the months of the year. Adequate hydration and regular application of sunscreen is a great way to keep our skin in optimal condition.

Here are the 4 most important tips.

1) Invest in products with broad-spectrum sun protection
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration [FDA] acts to regulate the control and regulations, in order to make it easier to choose the best sunscreen. New sunscreens can block an impressive range of sun rays – from UVB to UVA – combining smart filters that offer very high protection SPF50+.

2) Choose natural sunscreens with minerals
The two most common ingredients in natural sunscreens are the mineral salts: titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
• They are the only ingredients generally recognized as safe and effective by the FDA. Natural sunscreens are much safer for people who are concerned about long-term exposure to chemical ingredients.
• They are also ideal for children, people with sensitive skin.
• Unlike chemical sunscreens, which usually need 20 to 30 minutes to be absorbed into the skin, mineral sunscreens offer immediate protection – no waiting is required.
• They can also be applied over makeup and other skin care products.

3) Avoid dangerous ingredients
Stay away from formulations that contain the following: Oxybenzone, phthalates, palmitoyl retinyl, parabens, octinoxate, octocrylene, homosalate, and avobenzo.

4) Put the sunscreen in your daily routine
Even if it's cloudy, apply sunscreen thoroughly to your face and body (ideally every two hours) and after each swim.
