In my adolescence, I chose the profession of pharmacist. I studied at the Athens School of Pharmacy. My choice was not accidental. In my childhood, I was thrilled when I was in a pharmacy. The smells of the medicines, the images of the many jars and shelves had been imprinted on me. I always had the spirit of healthcare and an interest in the health of my fellow human beings. In our pharmacy, patients are served in the best possible way and many times services are even provided free of charge.
The pharmacist performs a social function, stands by the citizen and must not only indicate the way of care, but also transmit strength and hope for the solution of the problem.
We must mainly encourage patients with difficult conditions and help them to believe that the progress of research and science will provide them with effective treatment. However, our pharmacy is not only concerned with medicine. We have a wide range of cosmetics, dietary supplements, alternative therapies and other over-the-counter drugs. And this is because it has now become clear that prevention plays the most important role. Also, in recent years, there has been a shift towards natural products and herbs of Greek land.
I feel satisfaction on the one hand because I achieved most of my goals and on the other hand because people recognize our contribution and reciprocate their love. It also gives me great satisfaction that my children, Giannis and Ermina, have chosen to follow my profession and continue the successful course of our pharmacy, always working with love for people.
As a hobby, I enjoy traveling to the beautiful provinces of our Greece. I love animals very much and help the homeless as much as I can.
I hope that the family tradition of the profession will continue to my grandchildren. This is something that would bring me a lot of joy. However, they should know that it is a difficult profession that requires patience and constant updating. But in the end, it always rewards you.
