Schools are opening and you wonder how you can help your child from afar in case of an emergency? Very easily. Simply make a small first aid kit for the child to take to school (he can leave it under the desk) or add some basic first aid items to his bag, such as the following:
1. A small water bottle that the child can open by himself if needed.
2. A small first aid kit or simply some whiteplasters and a tube of antibiotic ointment.
3. Hand sanitiser gel, lip balm and baby wipes, so that the child can be easily cleaned if needed.
4. A cereal bar or some hard candies, for energy and comfort.
5. A whistle that makes a loud sound, since you will have shown the child before how to use it.
6. A small magnifying glass.
For older children, you can add some items that could start a fire if needed, always in accordance with the school's regulations.
7. A lighter or a box of matches.
You can store all these essentials in a small secure bag, a small box for tissues or a metal box. However, it is very important to make sure that younger children in particular understand the importance of it and do not treat it as a toy.
Imagine them taking out the snacks at an inappropriate time of hunger or telling their classmates that they have toys inside the box. For greater certainty, talk to the school administration or the child's teacher and find together a solution for where you can put the box or what exactly it can contain.
