Even if spring is just around the corner and the weather is still cold, did you know you can get sunburned from the sun?
The ultraviolet radiation of the sun penetrates the earth's atmosphere all year round. When the sun's angle is high, more UV rays reach the ground and possibly your skin, than when the sun's angle is low. However, even during these periods with a low sun angle, i.e. in winter, spring, autumn, early mornings and evenings, some UV rays still reach the ground. Even on cloudy days, there are small amounts of UV rays that reach the earth's surface.
In early April, the sun is as strong as in early September. By mid-April, the sun is as strong as in late August! In general, as the date is between the weeks before the spring equinox (March 19-21) and after the autumn equinox (September 22-24), people with light skin can get sunburned from the sun when their skin is exposed to the sun's rays for a few minutes.
For this reason, experts point out that sunburn from the sun has nothing to do with the low temperature outside. It is therefore important to wear sunscreen with a protection factor of at least SPF15. Always keep in mind that when you suffer a sunburn from the sun, the DNA of your skin is destroyed, which can lead to various forms of skin cancer. It is therefore very important to wear sunscreen all year round, especially on the face which remains uncovered.
