How to make a spa at home
Everyday life is now demanding, personal time is minimal, stress and fatigue wear us down and we all need a few hours of complete relaxation. A visit to a wellness center is not always feasible, either due to money or time.
However, we can turn our own space into a spa and enjoy this experience by following these steps:
Before we start we remove all electronic devices from the space.
In spas, the use of any electronic device is prohibited in order to truly relax, so at home we lower our mobile and landline phones and leave them along with the smartwatch in another room.
Relaxing atmosphere
Lighting, relaxing music and the aroma are the key elements for this relaxing experience.
We can use a ceramic device, a humidifier or an aroma diffuser to fill the space with the scent of our favoriteessential oil. Lavender, Roman chamomile and cedarwood are ideal for relaxation, while orange energizes and reduces stress.
We lower the lighting, light candles, play relaxing, atmospheric music with sounds of nature and immerse ourselves in a bubble bath with salts, chamomile and rosemary for maximum relaxation.
Breathing
We start by inhaling a relaxing aroma. We take deep breaths through the nose and exhale through the mouth.
Face mask
We do a face mask. We can make a hydrating mask with yogurt, honey and avocado or choose a mask according to our skin needs. We can also put cucumber slices or cold tea bags on our eyes to reduce puffiness.
Aromatherapy towels
We can aromatize our towels with a few drops of our favorite essential oil and warm them in a radiator or microwave. The sensation of warmth after a bath is particularly relaxing.
Massage
With a roller or gua sha we can do a facial massage and with a body brush we do a massage on our skin to enhance blood circulation and collagen production.
We can make our own scrub by mixing brown sugar with coconut oil and our choice of essential oil and make circular upward movements on our body. At the end we apply moisturizing cream.
