Description - mode of action
The extract of saw palmetto is produced from the brown berries of the saw palmetto plant, which thrives mainly in the southeastern USA.
The saw palmetto has been used for centuries to address prostate problems.
According to a 1993 report in Germany, 90% of patients suffering from benign prostatic hyperplasia are treated with natural remedies and 50% of German urologists prefer the administration of herbal extracts over synthetic drugs. Of all the herbs, saw palmetto is the most widely used.
The evidence regarding the effectiveness of saw palmetto is impressive. Research results have shown that the natural active ingredient derived from the herb has a 90% success rate in addressing prostate hyperplasia, in terms of improving urine flow, good emptying of the bladder, pain and discomfort during urination and reducing nocturia.
