The Bepanthol Baby Balm in a 100 gram jar is a protective cream for the diaper area, with 5% provitamin B5. Its texture is rich and semi-transparent, without mercury, fragrance, dyes or preservatives. It is the size that stays permanently on the changing table and is enough for systematic, daily use.
It is aimed at parents looking for a daily-use cream for the diaper and not an emergency solution for a bad week, as well as mothers who want a dual-purpose product: protection against diaper rash for the baby and care for the breast area during breastfeeding.
The diaper creates a closed, warm and moist environment. When the keratin layer stays in moisture for hours, it swells and loses its cohesion, so small frictions that normally would leave no trace start to cause irritation. On this already vulnerable skin, the enzymes of the feces act, enhanced by the alkalinity of the urine.
The cream inserts a fatty, semi-permeable layer between the skin and the diaper. According to the manufacturer, it creates a transparent shield of protection on the surface of the epidermis, protecting against the causes of irritation and scientifically proven to reduce friction during application. Because it does not contain mercury, it does not leave a white opaque crust and is easily removed.
The second aspect concerns panthenol. The provitamin B5 is water-soluble, penetrates the keratin layer and retains water within it. In the body, it is converted into pantothenic acid, which participates in the metabolism of skin cells. The manufacturer states that thanks to provitamin B5, the Baby Balm supports the natural process of skin repair from within.
Active: 5% provitamin B5 (PANTHENOL).
INCI: AQUA, LANOLIN, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM, PETROLATUM, PANTHENOL, PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS OIL, CERA ALBA, CETYL ALCOHOL, STEARYL ALCOHOL, OZOKERITE, GLYCERYL OLEATE, LANOLIN ALCOHOL, BHT, TOCOPHEROL.
Does not contain: preservatives, dyes, fragrance, mercury.
The oily phase is based on lanolin, liquid paraffin and petrolatum, with beeswax (CERA ALBA) and ozokerite giving body to the cream, while sweet almond oil (Prunus amygdalus dulcis) and tocopherol complete the composition. Lanolin and lanolin alcohol are known contact allergens for a small percentage of people, as well as sweet almond oil in people with allergies to nuts.
Form: cream in a 100gr jar.
Application: «The Bepanthol Baby Balm is used daily, at every diaper change.»
On the baby: clean, dry thoroughly with gentle pats and apply a thin, even layer to the diaper area before putting on the diaper. On the mother: a small amount on the breast area after breastfeeding. Breastfeeding mothers should remove any product residue from the breast before breastfeeding. Only for external use, not for eyes and mucous membranes. Keep closed at room temperature, away from sunlight and children. If irritation persists or worsens, consult a pediatrician or pharmacist.
Same cream, different quantity. The 30gr is the travel jar for the changing bag, while the 100gr is the daily-use size at home, with lower cost per gram.
The 200gr have the lowest cost per gram and are suitable when the product is used very often or by both baby and mother together. The 100gr is the balance between duration and jar size.
The classic Bepanthol Cream with 5% provitamin B5 is a general care cream for dry and distressed adult skin. The Baby Balm is a cream, i.e. oilier and more covering, designed specifically for the protection of the diaper area.
The product is intended for external use. That is why the manufacturer asks breastfeeding mothers to remove any residue from the breast before breastfeeding. If there is ingestion, contact a doctor or the Poison Control Center.
It is an oily cream, so in large quantities it may leave a mark on the fabric. A thin layer and a few seconds of waiting before closing the diaper limit the problem.
The oily residues may over time reduce the absorbency of cloth diapers. If you use cloth diapers, ask the manufacturer or place a protective sheet between them.
No. According to the INCI and the manufacturer, it does not contain preservatives, fragrance or dyes. However, it contains lanolin, which is a known contact allergen for a small percentage of people.
The manufacturer states it is suitable to keep the sensitive breast area soft, not to treat nipple cracks. If there is pain, bleeding or cracking, an assessment by a lactation consultant, midwife or doctor is needed.
At room temperature, with the cap closed, away from direct sunlight. Observe the duration after opening and the expiration date indicated on the packaging.
