The result is an extensive surface with micro-injuries, redness and swelling. In the following days the epidermis is reconstructed and the excess color trapped in the upper layers leaves in the form of fine peeling. When this surface dries out excessively, thick crusts are formed, the skin pulls, itching intensifies and people are tempted to scratch or pull off the skin flakes. This is where ink is lost and empty or blurred outlines remain. A skin that remains gently hydrated peels more evenly, with less intensity, and the design looks clearer when the process is complete.
