The Izicol Junior is a medical aid with macrogol 3350 that helps treat constipation in children 2-12 years old.* In powder form that dissolves in water with a neutral taste.
It is a fast-acting laxative and it is the only osmotic laxative with level 1 evidence and grade A recommendation, recommended for treating constipation by the World Gastroenterology Organization. Thanks to its osmotic action, macrogol:
positively affects intestinal peristalsis
facilitates natural bowel movements
is not absorbed or metabolized in the intestine
is not fermented in the intestine
does not irritate the mucous membrane
restores normal bowel movement cycle
does not disturb the intestinal microbiome and electrolyte balance
Izicol Junior can be used as a first-line treatment for functional constipation, cases of "constipation" in children, and as a maintenance treatment.*

Dosage
Recommended dosage:
Children 2-6 years: 1 sachet daily.
Children over 6 years: 2 sachets daily.
Additionally, the ESPGHAN and NASPGHAN organizations recommend:
Constipated stools: 1-1.5 g/kg/day for 3-6 days. Chronic Constipation: Start treatment: 1-1.5 g/kg/day up to 6 days, Maintenance treatment: 0.2-0.8 g/kg/day until symptoms are eliminated.
Instructions for Use
Dissolve the contents of one sachet in 1 glass (~120 ml) of water or other liquid. Stir until completely dissolved.
Contraindications-Interactions
It is advisable to take the product away from the intake of other medications or any other oral products, such as dietary supplements, because the acceleration of intestinal motility may adversely affect their effectiveness.
If other treatments are being applied, and especially in the case of corticosteroid-based treatments, consult your doctor before taking the product.
Side effects
Overdose
In case of overdose, severe abdominal pain, diarrhea with possible subsequent electrolyte disturbances due to dehydration and due to excessive evacuation may occur. In case of overdose, contact your doctor immediately.
Adverse effects
Adverse effects may occur related to the gastrointestinal tract due to the increased motility and osmotic power of macrogol 3350, such as diarrhea or loss of stools, abdominal pain, abdominal distension, inflammation and irritation of the rectum, flatulence, intestinal sounds, nausea, vomiting, which may be reduced or stopped if the dose is reduced or delayed.
If, in rare cases, hypersensitivity reactions occur, such as skin rash, itching, hives, stop using the product immediately and inform your doctor. If you forget to take a dose, do not take a double dose but wait and take the next one.
Precautions
Do not use the product in case of hypersensitivity to one or more ingredients.
Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of children under 3 years old.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Use the product only with the agreement of your doctor.
Avoid contact with eyes and in case it happens, rinse with plenty of water.
Do not take the product in case of hypersensitivity to macrogol (polyethylene glycol) 3350, in case of gastric or gastrointestinal lesions, blockages or perforations, in case of Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and other inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Do not use after the expiration date, which is printed on the packaging and sachet. Do not use the contents in case of damage or breach of the packaging. Do not use partially used and opened sachets in distant times, as the integrity and microbiological properties of the product are not guaranteed. Avoid indiscriminate use of the product. Do not discard the sachet in the environment after use.
Do not continue using the product beyond 28 days
Do not exceed the maximum dose of 2 sachets per day.

Minimum shelf life: 24 months.
