Doctor's Formulas Bromeact: what is it and for whom

Bromeact is a dietary supplement in capsules with three ingredients of plant origin, bromelain from pineapple, Boswellia serrata acid from the Boswellia plant and coumarin.

None of these three substances has an approved health claim in the European Union. Below is a description of each and where it comes from, without a claim of action or effect. It is intended for adults interested in enzymatic and botanical formulations as part of their daily routine.

Ingredients one by one

Bromelain from pineapple

Bromelain is not a vitamin or herb, it is a mixture of proteolytic enzymes, that is, enzymes that break down proteins. It is isolated from the fruit and especially from the stem of the pineapple (Ananas comosus). It is one of the most studied plant enzymes internationally and its activity is usually expressed in enzyme units, not just in milligrams. There is no approved health claim for bromelain.

Boswellic acid (Boswellia)

Boswellic acid is a pentacyclic triterpenic acid found in the resin of Boswellia trees, also known as frankincense. This resin has been used for centuries in the Indian tradition of Ayurveda and is now standardized based on its content of boswellic acids.**

Coumarin

Coumarin is a natural aromatic compound of the benzopyranone category, found in plants such as wild clover, cassia cinnamon and tonka bean. It is responsible for the characteristic smell of freshly cut grass. It should not be confused with coumarin anticoagulant drugs, which are synthetic derivatives with completely different use.**

Who is it suitable for

For adults who want a formulation with plant enzymes and botanical extracts in a standardized capsule form. For those who prefer to take bromelain in supplement form rather than relying on the amount of fresh pineapple.

Should not be taken by people with hypersensitivity to bromelain or Boswellia, or with allergy to pineapple, celery, carrot or grass pollen allergy. Not intended for children.
