DESCRIPTION AND USE: Candidiasis is a vaginal infectious disease which originates from fungi of the genus Candida (the most common being Candida albicans).
Under normal conditions this fungus is present in the vaginal ecosystem, in balance with other species.
Under special conditions such as: Decrease in the immune system's defense, Therapeutic use of antibiotics or corticosteroid preparations, Diet poor in vitamins but rich in sugars and carbohydrates, Stress, Use of oral contraceptives, Tight or synthetic underwear. The balance of the vaginal ecosystem between Candida and the other species is upset, because the above factors favor the uncontrolled reproduction of the specific fungus, resulting in the development of the disease and its appearance in the vagina.
To combat Candidiasis, it is necessary to restore the balance between the species and to return the vaginal pH to optimal levels, thus creating an unfavorable vaginal environment for the proliferation of fungi.
INDICATIONS: MICOSTOP® vaginal suppositories are indicated as treatment for vaginal yeast infections or as a supportive treatment for vaginal yeast infections. By acting on the balance and normalization of the vaginal pH, they oppose, prevent and counteract the colonization of pathogenic agents. Also, thanks to their soothing action, they greatly reduce the sensation of vaginal burning and itching.
