The main components of the composition
- The propolis consists of many active ingredients, such as resins, waxes, essential oils, pollen, B vitamins (B1, B2, B6), C and E, metals such as magnesium (Mg), calcium (Ca), potassium (K), sodium (Na), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), manganese (Mn), iron (Fe) and polyphenols. Other components with beneficial properties are flavonoids and phenolic acids such as caffeic, coumarinic and ferulic acid and caffeic acid phenethyl ester. Propolis exhibits various biological properties, such as antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, anti-herpes, antifungal and antioxidant.
- The propolis of Calmovix Propolis spray was studied in a single-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial and was shown to help relieve mild symptoms of both bacterial and viral upper respiratory tract infections (URTIs).
- Honey consists of micronutrients and macronutrients such as carbohydrates, enzymes, minerals and vitamins. Honey has a potential therapeutic role with phytochemical, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Flavonoids and polyphenols, which act as antioxidants, are two main bioactive molecules present in honey.
