Intermed Ergonomic InterBrush Mini Size 8 (1,5mm): the largest number in the series

With a diameter of 1,5mm, Size 8 is the widest brush in the Intermed Ergonomic InterBrush Mini series. The box contains 8 pieces, all with the anatomical handle that facilitates use in hard-to-reach areas.

It is made for the widest spaces between teeth, where even 1,1 and 1,3mm leave space around them and do not come into contact with the tooth surfaces.

When the gap is large, the size of the brush matters

A large gap may seem easy to clean, since it 'looks' clean. In practice, a small brush only passes through the middle and leaves residues on the walls. The 1,5mm fills the space, so the bristles rub the sides of the teeth and remove dental microbial plaque and food residues, according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Because it is the largest number, it is usually used in a few selected areas of the mouth, together with smaller brushes for the rest of the gaps.

Who needs it

People with very wide spaces between teeth, those who used 1,3mm and now find it loose, and those who clean orthodontic appliances in distant areas.

Instructions and warnings

Guide the brush into the gap gently, without haste, and clean with a few back-and-forth strokes. Then rinse it thoroughly and dry it, to be ready for reuse.

Such a wide brush should not be forced: pressure in a narrow gap can injure the gums. Do not bend the wire, as excessive stress can lead to breakage and injury.

Frequently asked questions

What do I do if even the 1,5mm is loose?

Talk to your dentist. For very large gaps, a different cleaning tool may be needed.

Can I start directly with this size?

It is better not to without a trial. Start with a smaller number and only move up when the brush no longer touches the teeth.

How many brushes does it contain?

Eight pieces with a diameter of 1,5mm.

Does the handle help when the brush is so large?

Yes. The anatomical handle provides better grip, so the wide brush can go in straight and controlled.

Is it suitable for teenagers with braces?

It can be used in areas of braces with plenty of space. For narrower areas, the orthodontist will recommend a smaller size.

Insert the brush carefully into the interdental space and move it gently back and forth. Rinse with water and dry after use to reuse it. Caution: in narrow interdental spaces do not apply pressure, as it may cause gum injury. Excessive force and bending of the wire may lead to wear and injury.
