Intermed Ergonomic InterBrush Size 2 (0,5mm): daily cleaning where the toothbrush can’t reach

Five Intermed interdental brushes with a diameter of 0,5mm, with a red size code. The anatomical handle helps the hand reach more comfortably to the back teeth and corners that a regular toothbrush can’t easily reach.

The Size 2 belongs to the small numbers of the series and fits narrow to medium gaps. It’s a good choice for those who want to make interdental cleaning a regular habit and find 0,4mm too thin.

What’s left after brushing

Even with careful brushing, the bristles of the toothbrush don’t reach the small triangular spaces between the teeth, near the gum line. That’s where food particles sit and dental microbial plaque forms. According to Intermed, the InterBrushes are designed precisely for their removal.

In relation to the floss, the brush has bristles all around the wire and cleans both sides of the gap at the same time. Many find it easier, especially around the molars, where flossing requires two hands and a lot of patience.

Who is it suitable for

For adults with narrow to medium interdental spaces, for those who have abandoned flossing because it was difficult for them, and for those who wear braces, as the manufacturer also provides for the cleaning of orthodontic devices.

Instructions and caution

Pass the head into the gap carefully and make a few gentle back and forth movements. At the end, rinse the brush under the tap and dry it, so it’s ready for the next time.

In the tightest spots, work without pressure, so as not to irritate the gums. Do not bend the wire and do not use force: it may break and injure you.

Frequently asked questions

Do I use it before or after brushing?

Both series are applied in practice. Several clean the gaps first, so that the subsequent brushing pulls away what has been dislodged. The important thing is to do it daily.

Is once a day enough?

One cleaning per day, usually in the evening, is a realistic goal for most. If you wear braces, your dentist may recommend more frequent use.

What does the red color indicate?

It’s a size code color. It helps you distinguish the 0,5mm from other numbers when you have more than one in the bathroom.

What’s the difference from the Mini Size 2?

The regular packaging contains 5 pieces and the Mini 8, with the same diameter of 0,5mm and anatomical handle. The manufacturer doesn’t publish other technical differences, so ask the pharmacy which form suits you.

Can another family member use it?

No. Like the toothbrush, it’s a personal hygiene item and each member needs their own.

Pass the brush carefully into the interdental space and move it gently back and forth. After each use, rinse and dry it to be reused. Caution: those with narrow interdental spaces should not apply pressure to avoid gum injury. Do not bend the wire and do not use excessive force, as it may break and cause injury.
