The Size 4 of the Ergonomic InterBrush series is a 0.7mm diameter brush with a yellow color code, in a pack of 5 pieces. Like the whole series, it has a special anatomical handle to reach the hard-to-reach areas of the mouth more easily.
It is in the middle of the size scale. It fits in gaps that already have a little space, where the 0.4 and 0.5mm move loosely and do not touch the walls of the teeth.
The Intermed mentions two uses for the InterBrush: cleaning the interdental spaces and cleaning orthodontic mechanisms. Food gathers around the brackets and under the arch of fixed appliances that the toothbrush often misses. A medium-sized brush fits in these areas and has enough bristles to clean.
The same logic applies to natural gaps. The brush must fill the space: if it is too small, the bristles pass through the middle without touching the surfaces, if it is too large, it presses the gums.
Adolescents and adults with fixed orthodontic appliances, those with medium interdental spaces, and those for whom the dentist has indicated a size of 0.7mm for specific areas.
Guide the brush into the gap without haste and move it gently inwards and outwards. After cleaning, a rinse with water and good drying is enough to use it again.
If the gap is narrow, do not apply pressure because the gums are at risk. Avoid bending the wire, as its wear can lead to injury.
This medium size is often used around brackets and under the arch. If at some point it does not fit comfortably, prefer a smaller number there and ask your orthodontist.
Try the smaller one first. If it fits without any resistance and does not touch the teeth, go up to 0.7mm.
When the bristles are worn out or lose their shape, or when the wire bends. With braces, wear is usually faster due to the metal parts.
The color corresponds to the size 0.7mm and makes it easy to recognize when combining sizes.
It should not hurt. If you feel pain, the size is probably large or the pressure is excessive, so stop and seek advice.
