The Intermed Ergonomic InterBrush Size 6 is the widest number in the regular InterBrush series, with a diameter of 1,1mm. The package contains 5 brushes, each with the special anatomical handle of the series.
From the 0,8mm of Size 5 the scale goes straight to 1,1mm, so Size 6 is aimed at really open gaps. If you see a clear distance between two teeth or if the middle numbers move within the gap as if they were not there, this is the size you should try.
In a wide gap, a thin brush leaves untouched the sides of the teeth, right where the dental microbial plaque sits. The wider head fills the space and brings the bristles into contact with the surfaces, so that each pass removes food residues instead of 'dancing' in the middle.
The anatomical handle helps with this size, because the wide brush needs a firm grip to go straight in and not to press the gums from one side.
For those with large interdental spaces, for those whose dentist recommended 1,1mm for specific teeth and for cleaning orthodontic mechanisms in places with enough space.
Gently push the brush into the gap and make a few back and forth passes. Clean it with running water and let it dry for the next day's use.
If the 1,1mm is difficult to enter, do not force it: the gums can be injured and this means the gap needs a smaller number. Bending the wire and excessive force can cause breakage and injury.
In the regular InterBrush series, yes. The Mini series is also available in 1,3mm and 1,5mm for even wider gaps.
Not necessarily. Use it only in wide areas and smaller numbers in the rest.
Yes, interdental cleaning is combined with your routine, i.e. brushing and mouthwash if you use it.
It depends on the frequency of use. Replace it once the bristles are worn out or the wire changes shape.
Gentle movement, no pressure and the right size. If there is pain or persistent bleeding, talk to your dentist.
