Intermed Ergonomic InterBrush Mini Size 4 (0,7mm): cleaning around brackets and wires

The Intermed features the Ergonomic InterBrush Mini Size 4 in a box with 8 brushes with a diameter of 0,7mm, with a yellow color code. The anatomical handle provides better control when the brush needs to enter corners, such as between the brackets of a fixed orthodontic appliance.

Cleaning orthodontic mechanisms is one of the two uses explicitly mentioned by the manufacturer for the series. The other is cleaning the medium-width interdental spaces.

Why braces need a brush

Fixed appliances create dozens of small "traps" for food: under the arch, around each bracket, between the rings. The toothbrush passes over them but does not go under them. An interdental brush slides under the wire and cleans the sides, where microbial plaque accumulates.

A practical technique: pass the brush under the arch between two brackets, make a few strokes, and continue to the next space, gradually moving from one end of the arch to the other.

Who it suits

Adolescents and adults undergoing orthodontic treatment, parents who help their children clean their braces, and those with medium interdental spaces.

Usage instructions

Insert the brush carefully and clean with gentle back-and-forth movements. After each use, rinse it with water and dry it to be reused.

Where space is tight, avoid pressure to prevent gum injury. Do not twist or bend the wire forcefully, as it may break and injure you.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I clean my braces with the brush?

Ideally after main meals or at least once a day. Follow your orthodontist's instructions.

Does it wear out faster when used on braces?

Usually yes, because the bristles rub against metal. That's why the pack of 8 is practical.

What does the yellow color mean?

It indicates the size 0,7mm, so you can recognize it immediately among other sizes.

Can I carry it in my bag for school or work?

Yes, its small size is convenient for cleaning after lunch. Make sure it is dry when you put it in a case.

Do I continue using it after braces are removed?

Interdental cleaning remains useful afterward. However, the size may need to be changed, so ask your dentist.

Insert the brush carefully into the interdental space or under the arch of the orthodontic appliance and make gentle back-and-forth movements. After use, rinse and dry it to reuse. Caution: do not press in narrow spaces to avoid gum injury. Excessive force and bending of the wire may cause wear and injury.
