Glutamine is particularly essential for the normal function of the intestine because the cells of the intestinal mucosa regenerate using glutamine as the main energy source. For this reason, among the 20 amino acids, glutamine is often referred to by doctors as the ‘gut restorer’. Therefore, glutamine is mainly used in cases of disruption of the integrity of the intestinal wall (such as in cases of disruption of the balance of the intestinal flora or in certain chronic diseases accompanied by disruptions of normal intestinal function).
It is often used for recovery by athletes, as large amounts of glutamine are stored in the muscles where it plays an important role in repair and the construction of new muscles. Dosage:
1 to 2 capsules per day, with juice or water but not with milk. Amino acids are better absorbed when taken half an hour before a meal or before bedtime.
