The Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Boulardii contains 6 billion live micro-organisms Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Boulardii (active lyophilized yeasts), per capsule. The yeast Saccharomyces Cerevisiae Boulardii has been used in a plethora of clinical studies.
The Lamberts® uses specialized processes to ensure that the micro-organisms will remain alive in their packaging. The special tube we use contains a desiccant material that removes any trace of moisture from the capsules. This ensures the guaranteed viability of the strains until their expiration date.
After consuming the capsule, it is vital to ensure that the micro-organisms survive their passage through the stomach. The acids of the stomach are the first line of defense against pathogenic bacteria and fungi, destroying them through their acidic pH. To minimize the effect of gastric acid, the Saccharomyces Boulardii yeasts are dried at high temperatures and are surrounded by an acid-resistant coating (polysaccharide matrix). This coating protects the yeast from the acidic pH of the stomach, increasing its survival probability up to 50 times, which translates into an increased number of yeasts that colonize the small intestine.
