Each vegetable capsule contains 250 mg titled Turmeric extract (Curcuma longa), 95% (380 mg) minimum content in curcumin.
Importance: Antioxidant, hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiarthritic. Possibly anticancer. Indigestion.
Common Use: One capsule per day.

Botanical (and English) name: Curcuma longa (Turmeric)
Active part of the plant: Rhizome
Active ingredients: curcumin

Properties: Anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, immune system booster, with likely anticancer properties. In vitro and animal studies and very few human studies have shown that turmeric limits both the cases of carcinogenesis and the number and size of tumors, as well as metastases. It protects against carcinogenic substances (such as tobacco) and the toxicity of chemical substances and anticancer drugs (significant liver, lung, kidney protection was observed).

Anti-sclerotic. Antithrombotic. Antiarthritic. In rheumatoid arthritis, improvement in early stiffness, walking ability, and joint swelling. Antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal. It seems to help in healing diabetic skin wounds and to protect against senile cataract.

Study in humans showed significant improvement in chronic anterior uveitis. It significantly increases the secretion of bile salts. Increases the solubility of bile and the secretion of cholesterol and bilirubin. Probably effective in preventing cholelithiasis. Probably against spastic colitis and peptic ulcer. Approved by the German Commission E for liver and bile disorders, indigestion, loss of appetite.
Synergistic herbs: Astragalus, OPC, Echinacea, Garlic, Green tea, Schisandra, Goldenseal, Pau d`arco, Bromelain. Also excellent is the combination with Piper nigrum (bioperine) for much better utilization of the poorly absorbed curcumin.

Contraindications - Precautions: Very safe. Best taken with food. Taken in very high doses or/and outside of meals may cause stomach irritation in some people. Those with bile duct obstruction or gallstones causing pain should consult their doctor before taking turmeric. Those taking anticoagulants/antiplatelet drugs should inform their doctor (turmeric may enhance the action of these drugs).
