The short 6mm needles contribute to the more predictable absorption of insulin, significantly reducing the risk of intramuscular injection. The new technologies have made it possible to produce needles with a thinner diameter than ever before.
NovoFine 30G have proven to be much less painful than the older 27 and 28G, leading to greater satisfaction for the diabetic individual. The 6mm NovoFine are cut at an acute angle and electropolished for a smoother surface. A special silicone coating eliminates friction, which is mainly responsible for pain during injection. They also now have thinner walls and a wider lumen, ensuring less resistance to the flow of insulin. This means less pressure is needed to achieve a faster flow of insulin during injection.
