The 8mm NovoFine needles are cut at an acute angle and electropolished for a smoother surface. A special silicone coating eliminates friction, which is mainly responsible for pain during injection. They also now have thinner walls and a wider lumen, ensuring less resistance to insulin flow. This means less pressure is needed to achieve a faster insulin flow during injection. Finally, they have a reinforced outer cover that makes it impossible to puncture. A protective ring on the inner cover protects against accidental needle pricks.
