The NOW® Non-GMO Lecithin is derived from non-genetically modified soy and contains 15% choline and inositol. Choline and inositol are components of various phospholipids (structural components of cell membranes) and powerful lipotropic factors contributing to the prevention of fat accumulation in the liver.
Choline is part of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine (brain chemical) which is vital for the transmission of nerve impulses. Moreover, choline may be beneficial for patients with diseases related to impaired cholinergic transmission (e.g. Alzheimer's disease, impaired memory, and ataxia, etc.). Research has shown that increased intake of lecithin helps in "burning" fat.
Lecithin aids in weight loss as it is considered a natural fat solvent, helping our body in the metabolism of lipids. The rationale behind its administration is that the more lecithin we take, the more fat we will burn.
