The first urine of a baby passes through channels within a protective inner lining, also called a top sheet. On the top sheet there is a thin layer of mild lotion to help maintain the baby's skin health by protecting it from moisture. The urine then passes through the absorption layer, which is made of fabric-like fibers of polyester that are both soft and effective in quickly absorbing liquid and then the urine is removed from the baby's skin.
The urine distribution layer carries it to the absorbent core, where it is finally stored.
The outer wrapping of the diaper, also made of a breathable soft fabric-like fiber, helps to remove moisture and transfer it away from the bed or clothes to the baby's skin.
