The increased concentration of cholesterol in the hair follicles, which are in telogen phase, is considered responsible for preventing the follicles from transitioning to anagen phase, ultimately resulting in the inhibition of hair growth in androgenetic alopecia (3, 4, 5, 6).
The combination of Polysorbate-60 and Polysorbate-80 ingredients has been proven to increase the removal of cholesterol and, consequently, androgenic steroid hormones from the hair follicle, modifying the transfer of these substances from the cell membrane (1, 2, 3, 4).
Clinical studies, with material of men and women aged 17-64 years, who suffered from androgenetic alopecia and underwent a 6-month topical treatment with a formulation containing Polysorbate-60 & Polysorbate-80 showed:
* Significant improvement in hair growth in 78% of volunteers whose androgenetic alopecia dated back 1 - 3 years.
* Significant improvement in hair growth in 43% of volunteers whose androgenetic alopecia dated back more than 5 years.
* Impressive reduction of increased seborrhea in the scalp, in 93% of volunteers.
* Excellent tolerance in 95% of volunteers.
