Greek Bio-Spirulina Nigritas of Serres 400mg 120tabs (Bio - Spirulina)

General information about Spirulina:
The Spirulina is an ancient multicellular microphycean that appeared on earth 3.5 billion years ago. With its ability to photosynthesize absorbing twice its biomass amounts of carbon dioxide (CO2) and to capture atmospheric nitrogen (N).
It has contributed to the formation of the modern earth atmosphere, enriching it with abundant oxygen. Biologically, it is characterized as a thermophilic organism (optimum 35c) and alkaliphilic (pH 9-11). Historically, the Spanish conquerors of Mexico in the 16th century observed the Aztecs collecting natural spirulina from lakes with fine nets and turning it into cakes, a main component of their diet. Today this process is systematically carried out in the Texcoco lake. A similar process is applied in Chad, Africa, in the Kossoron lake, where spirulina is a main component of local diets, especially for pregnant women and in local medicine. After the Second World War, German and French professors studied spirulina in detail. In 1967, the International Union of Microbiologists declared spirulina as “the extraordinary food source of the future”. More recently, NASA chose spirulina as the main food source for astronauts.
Biochemical composition of Greek bio-spirulina:

The Spirulina contains around 100 substances and simple elements.

¬ Protein: From 60-70% on dry weight. Contains all the essential amino acids and ten of the non-essential ones, thus it is a “complete” protein that exceeds the protein of milk, meat and eggs, with solubility of 95%.
¬ Vitamins: Contains the vitamins: B-1 (thiamine), B-2 (riboflavin), B-3 (niacinamide), B-6 (pyridoxine), B-9 (folic acid), B-12 (cyanocobalamin), vitamin C, vitamin D and vitamin E, biotin (H), folic acid, inositol and provitamin A.
¬ Essential fatty acids: It has a high content (30-60%) of polyunsaturated (PUFA), especially in omega series fatty acids, such as gamma-linolenic (ALA), linoleic (LA), stearidonic (SDA), eicosapentaenoic (EPA), docosahexaenoic (DHA) and arachidonic acid (AA), Palmitic acid, Oleic acid
¬ Metallic elements: Contains Calcium, Potassium, Magnesium, Sodium, Manganese, Phosphorus, Copper, Selenium, Iron, Zinc. Does not contain iodine.
¬ Photosynthetic pigments: Chlorophyll, Phycocyanin, Carotenes, Xanthophyll, Canthaxanthin, beta-Cryptoxanthin, Phycobiliproteins.
¬ Nucleic acids: Contains Ribonucleic acid (RNA) and Deoxyribonucleic acid DNA.

Beneficial properties:

The spirulina you purchased is a microscopic plant that has been grown from a “seed” originating from one of the largest Universities in Germany which has the largest algae bank worldwide. As a plant, it is an amazing organism that has existed and reproduced for 3.5 billion years, to which we owe our existence (first production of O2). It is the only plant cultivated in reservoirs – circular motion pools seeking its food and solar energy in the form of photons, of certain wavelengths of the light spectrum. Before reaching your hands it has “run” about 40 kilometers, as much as a marathon.
The different elements that spirulina provides us are fully water-soluble and completely digestible, offering additional energy, complementing deficiencies in daily diet, restoring the correct metabolic balance. It increases performance in mental and physical work, exercise and mood for competitive distinction in all areas that modern man moves.
According to an official publication of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), United Nations Organization (Circular 1034 FIMA/C1034 (En), 155N 2070-6065 of 2008), spirulina is recognized for its potential use in supplementary healing (supplementary cure) in many diseases or health problems. The most important is the enhancement of the immune system by Phycocyanin, which significantly reduces blood lipids, combats the feeling of “fatigue” by increasing the levels of immunoglobulin A (IgA) and M (IgM). ¬ Proteins, vitamins, minerals and polysaccharides improve all physical performances, especially in athletes. In weightlifters it increases lung capacity without affecting blood pressure.
¬ The dry biomass of spirulina contains up to 2% gamma-linoleic acid (GIA), a percentage equal to that of breast milk. This high percentage helps with arthritis, obesity, cardiovascular and zinc deficiency syndrome.
¬ In experiments conducted in Germany and Japan, spirulina showed that it reduces cholesterol, triglycerides and low-density lipoproteins in the blood, acting beneficially in combating atherosclerosis. (2)
¬ Due to its very high content of organic, readily absorbable iron, spirulina directly helps correct anemia, low hematocrit and the menstrual syndrome. (3)
¬ Current studies are investigating the positive effect of spirulina in the prevention of cancer (leukemias), the protection of people undergoing radiation-chemotherapy and due to its antiviral action in aiding people affected by the AIDS virus.
How to consume it:
- Two tablets in the morning with a glass of water or juice and two at noon half an hour before a meal for better iron absorption.
NO interactions with other medications have been observed and there is no risk of overdose.
