Svetol® is a standardized extract from unroasted green coffee Coffea canephora robusta. Roasting coffee destroys much of the chlorogenic acids, a group of polyphenols found in the unroasted bean. This specific extract is standardized to retain a high content of these compounds and is caffeine-free.
Chlorogenic acids have been the focus of research for years on carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, although no health claim has been approved for them in the European Union. The same applies to piperine from black pepper, which is being studied for its role in the bioavailability of other substances, as well as capsaicin from cayenne pepper. Therefore, in this text they are described as components of the composition without attributing any effect to them.
According to the product presentation by Solgar itself, it is a specialized formula containing nutrients and herbal extracts, aimed at supporting the body's metabolism. The company states the following:
