The prostate is a small gland of the male reproductive system. Its main role is to produce a fluid (prostatic fluid) which nourishes the sperm with nutrients.
The prostate is often a source of problems in men, as from a young age it is vulnerable to infections (prostatitis), while with age it begins benign prostatic hyperplasia. Finally, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the Western world and is one of the major medical problems faced by the male population.

Ingredients properties of Prostamin:
- Serenoa repens (Saw palmetto): The Serenoa repens (Saw palmetto) has antiandrogenic action, inhibiting the enzyme 5α-reductase which is responsible for the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone, which is responsible for prostate enlargement. Additionally, it has anti-inflammatory properties. It is noteworthy that the combination of Serenoa repens with lycopene exhibits greater inhibitory action than Serenoa repens alone.*
- Cucurbita pepo – Pumpkin: The oil of Cucurbita pepo seeds has antiandrogenic properties due to sterols, anti-inflammatory properties due to phenols and antioxidant properties due to fatty acids. Additionally, it inhibits the enzyme 5α-reductase, preventing the production of dihydrotestosterone.*
- Urtica dioica -Nettle: The extract of the plant contains a combination of components such as phytosterols, saponins, flavonoids, amino acids etc., with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Additionally, it inhibits the enzyme 5α-reductase which converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone.*
- Prunus africana: Prunus africana has anti-inflammatory properties: the β – sitosterol prevents the production of pro-inflammatory prostaglandins, while the oleanic acid has an anti-inflammatory effect. Studies confirm its effectiveness in improving symptoms and parameters of urination.*
- Lycopene: a key component of the plant Lycopersicon esculentum (tomato), lycopene is a carotenoid which is a very good source of antioxidants. It has been observed that men with benign prostatic hyperplasia have low levels of lycopene in the prostate.*
- Zinc – Vitamins E & B6: Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal testosterone levels in the blood. Additionally, zinc and vitamin E contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress. Finally, vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity.**
