Dietary supplement with D-mannose, proanthocyanidins (OPCs) from cranberry, L-methionine & botanical ingredients

With ingredients that contribute:

  • to the maintenance of bladder function
  • to the maintenance of the normal function of the lower urinary tract

The Viogenesis Mannose Extra is a formula with D-mannose, proanthocyanidins (OPCs) from cranberry, L-methionine and botanical ingredients. Thanks to its composition, the Viogenesis Mannose Extra contributes to the maintenance of the normal function of the lower urinary tract and supports the function of the bladder. More specifically the product contains:

Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) | The bearberry supports the function of the bladder and contributes to the maintenance of the normal function of the lower urinary tract.*

D-mannose | D-mannose is a monosaccharide structurally similar to glucose and is found in many fruits and vegetables such as cranberries, apples, oranges, peaches, broccoli and green beans.

Although it belongs to sugars, it can be consumed even by diabetics, as it is not metabolized like other sugars in the body. It is not stored as glycogen and therefore does not affect blood glucose levels. On the contrary, a large percentage of it is excreted unchanged through the kidneys in the urine.

The way and degree of binding of E.coli strains to the molecule of mannose is extremely effective. Mannose binds to the pathogenic microorganisms and prevents their attachment to the mucous membranes of the urinary tract. Thus, the pathogens are carried away with the flow of urine and eliminated from the body.**

L-methionine | L-methionine belongs to the essential amino acids and since its synthesis by the human body is not possible, it must be obtained through food or dietary supplements. In addition to its basic role in protein formation, methionine also helps protect the body from oxidative stress, as it participates in the production of glutathione, a very powerful antioxidant. In dietary supplements containing D-mannose, L-methionine is added because it helps maintain an acidic pH in urine. This is important because bacteria – and especially E. coli, which is responsible for most urinary tract infections – have difficulty surviving and multiplying in an acidic environment.**

Cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) | Cranberry is one of the richest fruits in polyphenols, such as phenolic acids, anthocyanins (which give it its intense red color) and flavonoids, and stands out as one of the few natural sources of proanthocyanidins (OPCs). Proanthocyanidins have the ability to prevent bacteria, such as E. coli, from attaching to the walls of the bladder and the urinary tract in general.**

Blueberries (Vaccinium uliginosum) | Blueberries contain proanthocyanidins (OPCs), which prevent the attachment of bacteria to the urinary system and offer significant antioxidant benefits. **

Dandelion (Taraxacum officinale) | Dandelion, or taraxac, has prebiotic properties, contributes to the normal function of the gastrointestinal system and liver, and to the maintenance of normal stomach pH levels.*

Goldenrod (Solidago virgaurea) | The name Solidago comes from the Latin word solido, which means 'I unite', and is related to the healing properties attributed to the plant. Goldenrod contributes to the body's defense against external factors.**

Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) |Parsley is a source of flavonoids and volatile oils.**

Cucumber (Cucurbita moschata) |Cucumber is rich in nutrients such as vitamins, carotenoids, polyphenols and flavonoids.**
