It contains silver sulfadiazine and has a high water content.
Silver sulfadiazine is an antimicrobial agent that acts against gram (+), gram (–) bacteria and anaerobic pathogenic microorganisms. Thus it relieves the wound from microbes and prevents infection of the wound.
The high water content (>95%) hydrates the wound while simultaneously cooling and soothing the injured skin, making Sofargen® Gel suitable for burns.

When and how is it used? We clean the wound thoroughly using plenty of water or saline solution.
We apply the
Sofargen® Gel directly on the surface of the wound creating a uniform layer of 2-3 millimeters thick.
Sofargen® Gel can also be used after it has been placed on sterile gauze or polyurethane film or semi-permeable dressing
Sofargen® Gel should be applied completely once or twice a day for as long as there is a risk of infection and until complete healing is achieved.
It can be used in cases of natural healing as well as in cases of surgical recovery. In each renewal of application, clean the wound thoroughly with water or saline solution.
Caution: Sofargen® may acquire a brown color when exposed to light due to the silver ions it contains. This does not affect the safety and effectiveness of the product.
