I always thought that manicure could be a much stronger fashion statement. So, in the early '80s, I created 12 dazzling nail colors, gave them smart names, and took them to Las Vegas. Two things happened: the dancers went crazy for them, and the colors became a hit in hair salons.
My formula had flawless coverage, incredible longevity, and exceptional resistance to chipping, and it subsequently won several awards. That's one of the reasons why what started in Las Vegas didn't stay there. Very soon, hair salons and spas across the country were asking for Essie's nail polishes.
Today, our products are available in more than 250,000 of the finest hair salons and spas, in more than 100 countries. (Far from staying in Las Vegas, indeed!) and we have more than 250 nail colors . So, women can experiment with the possibilities of color and express their mood, style, or whatever else they want.
