Since 1923, the company Gerolymatos International A.E.B.E., based in Athens, has been operating internationally and offering Health and Beauty services.
It is undoubtedly considered one of the oldest, traditional family businesses in the Greek Health market that focuses not only on the development and production of products but also takes care of the distribution, marketing, and sales of both its own products and internationally renowned partners.
Its presence has an impact on a global level, with a wide and continuously growing network of subsidiaries and local suppliers, giving access to consumers in at least 50 countries worldwide.
The development and evolution of Gerolymatos International is due to its activities in areas such as over-the-counter health products (OTC), optics (Optics), and veterinary (Vet). When pharmacist Nikolaos P. Gerolymatos established his first pharmacy in the center of Athens in 1923, no one could have estimated the impact it would have to evolve into one of the largest in the Balkans.
The unexpected destruction of the pharmacy during World War II resulted in Panagiotis Gerolymatos, then eighteen years old, to turn alternatively to the trade of pharmaceutical and veterinary products.
Under the lens of a small family pharmacy that started with a few members, it managed to recover and develop smoothly, and after three decades, it counts at least 1,100 employees. Earning the respect and trust of consumers the impact and recognizability of the products are still today reference points in the categories it operates.
Unfortunately, the unexpected consequences for the company's evolution and development, when in October 2008 the activities of the Gerolymatos Group of Companies concerning the Greek market were transferred to a publicly traded pharmaceutical company, prevented its activity abroad.
Now the reins of Gerolymatos International are taken by Nikolaos P. Gerolymatos - 3rd generation - who is responsible for its reorganization and evolution on a global scale, strengthening its subsidiaries abroad, managed to emerge based on its own products in at least 50 countries worldwide.
Through restructuring and rebuilding, Mr. Nikolaos P. Gerolymatos recently, in 2011, decided to reactivate the Gerolymatos company in Greece with its new headquarters in the northern industrial area of Athens, having secured its presence in foreign markets, and now seeks long-term partnerships with a focus on products and services of high quality recognized by customers, competitors, and consumers.
