The Curcumin Ultra is turmeric extract (Turmeric), specially designed to achieve better absorption by the digestive system.
The Turmeric (Κουρκουμάς/Curcuma longa) is an herb that has been used for 4000 years to treat chronic inflammatory conditions. The term turmeric comes from the Arabic word “kurkum”, which means “deep yellow” and refers to the characteristic yellow color of the rhizome. The newer term turmeric comes from “terra merita”, which in Latin meant praiseworthy earth, which also refers to the color of the ground rhizome, which resembles a mineral pigment. For this reason, in many languages, including Greek, the turmeric is described as “yellow root”.
The main active ingredients of Turmeric are the curcuminoids, of which the most important is curcumin (curcumine). This substance gives the yellow color to foods and especially to the curry spice, where it is found in large quantities.
A significant problem concerning curcumin is the difficulty in absorbing the micronutrient from the digestive system. To solve this problem the Lamberts, prepared the Curcumin Ultra. The Curcumin Ultra is a turmeric extract (Turmeric), specially designed to achieve better absorption by the digestive system. More specifically, CurcuWIN was used in its preparation, a type of turmeric extract that is prepared using Ultra SOLTM technology. This specific technology is a molecular compression (or molecular separation) technology used to increase the absorption and bioavailability of poorly absorbed lipophilic micronutrients (such as curcumin) by increasing their water solubility. More specifically, it separates the curcumin molecules making them more water soluble, resulting in the INCREASE OF THE ABSORPTION
In a published controlled clinical study(Jager et al. Nutr. J 2014 Jan 24;13(1):11) in which CurcuWIN was compared with classic turmeric extracts, the absorption of the curcuminoids of CurcuWIN compared to the curcuminoids of the classic extracts was 46 times greater. In the same clinical study, CurcuWIN was compared with two other “enhanced absorption” turmeric extracts and it was shown that the curcumin of CurcuWIN was much more bioavailable compared to these formulations.
