Bepanthol Derma Face Cleanser Gel: the first step, without pulling

Daily gentle face cleanser gel in a 200ml package, with a soap-free formula that removes impurities and mild makeup. Contains dexpanthenol, niacinamide, glycerin, argan oil and lysine, in a combination of mild surfactants with a skin-friendly pH. It does not contain fragrance, dyes or preservatives.

It is for anyone looking for face cleanser gel for dry skin and has tired of the feeling of tightness after washing. It meets the need for mild cleanser for face without soap for sensitive skin that easily reddens, and for daily face cleansing without fragrance when the skin cannot tolerate anything strong.

Why regular soap dries out the face: the pH and surfactants

The surface of healthy skin is slightly acidic, with a pH that is around 5. This acidic mantle is not in detail: it regulates the enzymes that organize the lipids of the keratin layer and keeps the microbiome in balance, that is, the microorganisms that live normally on us. Classic soap is alkaline, with a pH that reaches 9 or even higher. Each wash with it raises the pH of the surface abruptly and it takes hours to return.

The second point is the type of surfactant. The strong anionic molecules that give rich foam do not distinguish between dirt and our own lipids: they drag both away. In dry sensitive skin the result is the well-known pulling sensation a few minutes after washing, which in fact means that the barrier has been stripped. Here, cleansing is done with mild saccharic acid factors and amino acid derivatives, namely Lauryl Glucoside, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate and Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside. They clean effectively while leaving behind the lipids that the skin needs, while dexpanthenol and niacinamide remain in the skin and soothe. According to the manufacturer, the gel immediately relieves the pulling sensation, supports the microbiome and does not irritate the eyes.

When people choose it

  • Pulling after washing. The most common sign that the previous cleanser was too aggressive.
  • Dry skin that flakes. Especially around the nose and cheeks in winter.
  • Skin that cannot tolerate fragrances. Without fragrance, dyes and preservatives.
  • Morning and evening. As a regular first step before the face moisturizer.
  • Light makeup. Removes impurities and light makeup in one step.
  • Men’s skin after shaving. Gentle cleansing for skin that has already experienced friction.

How to use

Form: face cleanser gel, 200ml.
Application: “Apply to wet skin by massaging with gentle, circular motions. Rinse thoroughly. Follow with Bepanthol Derma Face Moisturizer, while the skin is still damp, to lock in moisture.”

Prefer lukewarm rather than hot water, because high temperature dissolves surface lipids faster. Dry with a towel instead of rubbing, and do not let the skin dry completely before the cream. Avoid direct contact with eyes and rinse with water if it gets in. If you have an active skin condition or an open wound on your face, ask a doctor or pharmacist first.

FAQs

What is the difference from Bepanthol Derma Body Gel Wash?

They are two different products with different formulations. This one of 200ml is for the face and removes mild makeup. The body wash of 400ml is for the shower, with its own surfactant system and suitability for babies from 6 months. You can have both, each in its place.

Does it contain soap? What is its pH?

It does not contain soap. The manufacturer states a skin-friendly pH, without publishing a specific value, that is, a value close to the slightly acidic normal of the skin rather than the alkaline of classic soap.

Does it remove makeup?

It removes impurities and mild makeup. For intense eye makeup or waterproof products you will need a special makeup remover first, then this as a second step.

How many times a day?

It is suitable for daily use, usually morning and evening. For very dry skin, many use it only in the evening and rinse with plain water in the morning.

Does it help with pimples or blackheads?

No, it is not an acne cleanser and does not contain salicylic acid or other comedogenic ingredients. It is designed for dry sensitive skin. For acne or blackheads, ask for a suitable product from your pharmacist.

Does it sting the eyes?

The manufacturer states that it does not irritate the eyes. Even so, avoid direct application to the eyelids and rinse if it gets in the eye.

Is it suitable for children or teenagers?

The manufacturer does not give an age limit for this product, according to the packaging label. Its mild composition without fragrance makes it suitable for sensitive skin of all ages, but for young children, ask your pharmacist.

Does it contain fragrance, dyes or preservatives?

None of the three. This is the main reason people with sensitive skin or known sensitivities to fragrances choose it.

What is the order of application within the Derma line?

Always first. Cleanse with the gel, then the day cream or the SPF25 version in the morning and the night cream in the evening, while the skin is still damp. In the shower, it replaces the soap with the gel body wash of the line.
