Evening Primrose Oil is derived from the seeds of the plant Oenothera biennis. It is a very rich source of natural gamma-linolenic acid and is an omega-6 fatty acid also found in borage oil (Borage Oil) and black currant seed oil (Black Currant Seed Oil). Although the human body can synthesize gamma-linolenic acid from other dietary lipids, it is believed that gamma-linolenic acid in its pre-synthesis form can be used more effectively in all functions of the body.
