Normal-Dry Skin

Firming care for normal to dry skin

Normal to dry skin has a specific characteristic: after cleansing, it pulls for a few minutes, and during the day it looks rather dull rather than shiny. When the loss of density of fifty is added to this, the result is twofold. The lines around the mouth and on the temples look more engraved, not because they have deepened overnight, but because a dehydrated skin reflects light differently.

This is also the good news. Part of the picture is corrected visually and relatively quickly, once the humidity and the lipid barrier are restored. The rest, the feeling of firmness, is built up over weeks of consistency.

Which texture to request

In the category you will find three main forms. The velvety creams, indicated by velvet or soyeuse, are quickly absorbed and are ideal for day and for use under makeup. The rich creams, riche or nourishing, stay a little longer on the surface and are suitable for winter months or more mature skin. Balms and oil-to-cream are the solution for days when the skin is stressed by cold and heat. If the pull is strong and persistent, go to the section for very dry skin.

What to look for in the composition

• Shea butter and vegetable oils: give an immediate sense of comfort and reduce the feeling of dryness.
• Ceramides and cholesterol: replenish the lipids that are missing from the barrier.
• Peptides: support the feeling of density without risk of irritation.
• Glycerin and hyaluronic acid: keep the water where it is needed and smooth the microrelief.
• Niacinamide: gradually improves tone and uniformity.
• Without alcohol and with a discreet fragrance: dry skin after 45 is often more irritable.

The routine in four steps

Cleanse with milk or cleansing oil instead of soap, because dry skin does not withstand foaming cleansers. Apply the cream within a minute of washing, while the skin is still damp. Work with upward movements and don’t forget the neck. In the morning, always finish with sunscreen. If you want something more intensive at night, check out the night creams in the same section.

Frequently asked questions

My cream is not absorbing. What am I doing wrong?

Usually the amount. A nut is enough for face and neck. If it still remains, the texture is richer than what the season needs.

Do I need a different cream in winter and summer?

Many do and it makes sense. Rich texture in the cold months, lighter in spring and summer, with the same level of care.

Can I combine firming cream with a simple moisturizer?

Yes. Many use the firming cream in the evening and a lighter moisturizing cream in the morning under sunscreen.

My skin stings with some products. What should I avoid?

Avoid formulas with alcohol high on the ingredient list and strong fragrance. Do a patch test on a small area for two days before daily use.
